I am an executive business developer specialized in retail, luxury, lifestyle and culture industries. Whether in large companies or smaller structures, I have successfully developed business growth of established brands, turned innovation startup projects into real operating businesses, and contributed to necessary turnovers.

Creativity in business pushes the world forward, therefore I thrive in initiatives and business models for creative industries. They can both deliver pleasure through amazing customer experiences and have a strong impact on people by giving them the opportunity to share aspirational new ways of life and get closer together.

I have grown enterprises over the last 17 years: three times in France and once in the USA in various positions as CFO (10 years) and CEO (7 years).
I have managed both success and failure, and developed professional skills and appreciation for what it takes to lead and build up such ventures, as a long term
key driver. My “hand on “ involvement has included: designing business models, attracting great staff, developing the business, working with strategic decision makers to back the implementation, and making necessary adjustments to the concept and organization during the growth phase. I have also structured finances, budget controls and raised funds from private and public investors to create profitable growth.

Having worked in Paris and New York, I am a «cross over» person at ease in both European and American business cultures.

My Professional Credentials

In Paris from 1997 to 2003, I contributed to create two retail startups from scratch
at PPR – KERING Group, the François Pinault company:

- FNAC EVEIL & JEUX: a retail and on line children concept, and a recognized success story of 40 boutiques, in which I was CFO setting up the whole financial organization and financial controls

- ARTES: a museum shop retail chain located in French malls, (somewhat similar to Met stores), with mixed results, in which I was CFO, setting up financial and IT organization, raising €12M from minority business angels to back the development and implementing the financial controls.

From 2004 to 2009, I joined ARC INTERNATIONAL Group, worldwide leading company in tableware (€1Bn) where I delivered two realizations:

- ARC INTL Consumer Brands & Retail Division (€400M): as CFO, I‘ve driven turnaround of the innovation process and cost killing of International marketing & product design of the group B to C brands.
Results were cutting the marketing budget by 40%, focusing the remaining task force on the new innovation product process, righting off €18M of aged inventory.

- SALVIATI: the luxury Murano glass jewel and décor brand established in 1859.
Based in New York as CEO, I lead the business growth of the US division by opening a retail flagship store in NYC Soho luxury area and upgrading wholesale operations adding new business with Saks and Neiman Marcus to existing one at Bloomingdales.
We had great time with my American people team making revenue growing up successfully from $0,9M to $2,9M from 2006 to 2008.

MOCA PARIS is the project I've developed since 2010 to establish an innovative American post-war & contemporary art museum, currently missing in continuous basis in Paris, and to foster the visual art knowledge of Paris largest museum audience in the world.
As CEO of MOCA PARIS project, together with a renowned & specialized curator and backed by French public authorities, I was able to raise €25M of promised gifts, to secure a 96 000 sq. ft. prime Museum location in the heart of Paris museum mile with a public landlord, to get approval of the City council and to set up the whole DNA of the museum.

My Personal Commitments

My stay in New York City has also catalyzed my personal and professional interests in the art world and in philanthropy.

Since 2011, I've been managing the operations and development of the Prize, and I’m a member of the artistic selection Committee.

I am the author of “The Artist Guide” to help French art students discover the best practices governing the global art market and apply them for their own benefit. Major personalities of the French art world, from Jean-Jacques Aillagon to Jennifer Flay or Jean de Loisy have contributed to the Guide among others.
